The Presentation I Will Remember

This will almost certainly be a presentation that I will remember for all time. Because, today was the day that I found my son’s light gray (size 15 1/2) dress shirt packed in my luggage rather than my light gray (size 18) dress shirt — and * had to wear it. It made may hair stand up. =;-)

More later!

  1. Reminds me of when I packed a pair of black dress shoes – both left feet. (Only works when I am dancing.)

Thanks for sharing this. Glad to know stuff happens to others too.

  2. David, I’m the fellow who pointed out that we aren’t in Northern ONtario but central Western. It’s one of those things we can get pretty touchy about. I am also the guy who left a bit early, 3:45, to take a friend home so he could get his son to swimming lessons. Sorry about cutting out early. It was a rewarding session and I am quite excited about blogging and about using these new ways to find and organize info, and to become a fuller participant in “the conversation”. By the way, the shirt looked fine, but you are right: it did seem to make your hair stand up!

  3. Hey David,

So funny……Wish I could have been there to see it!!!! Don’t feel so bad though as I am frequently seen at work wearing a black and a blue shoe/sock!!! 🙂

And, yes, we do need pictures!!!!

    Best,
    Jerrie

  4. You are held in such high esteem in the blogosphere that it does us all a power of good to hear a little personal revelation like this. Ah, we think to ourselves, much relieved, he has feet of clay. Thanks for being big enough to laugh at yourself… and to afford us the opportunity to join in.

I remember attending an address by a very well-known visiting lady speaker of whom I was in some awe. She seemed very awkward and kept tugging at her jacket (which it was far too hot to wear). Being an animated speaker, as she got into her stride, she forgot about the jacket and it became evident what the trouble was: she was wearing a white blouse and black underwear. It was neither fashionable at the time, nor was she the sort of woman who would have followed such a trend if it had been, being far too modest and, well, genteel, I guess.

Fortunately the audience was entirely female, so she probably decided, what the heck, this is cramping my style and got on with it.

Glad to hear that you made the same choice!

  5. You got my attention at the post title and paid it of with a human story 😉

I got to New York City one year with my wife’s slacks instead of mine; squeezing was not an option. On another trip to Atlanta I arrived and realized I had not one pair of underwear.

Sometimes you just have to improvese 😉
