Alas, I’ll be in Chicago when the Indiana Department of Education holds it 2nd (I think) K-12 Open Minds conference (September 25-27) in Indianapolis. I met conference organizer, Mike Huffman, at their booth at NECC this year and was elated by their offerings and the vision of the Indiana project. The EduPunk of their dream and practice best indicated by their lineup of keynote speakers, Donna Benjamin, Alex Inman, Chris Lehmann, and David Thornburg. I’m especially intrigued by the opening of the title of Chris’ address, “Open Pedagogy..”
I confess, and many of you know, that open source is not one of the paths I walk. We can’t walk them all, but I’m cheering.
I’d really like to attend a session on how to write open source code, to make a program community buildable. Alas, having never been formally taught how to write software, I’d really hate for anyone else to see my code 😉
