Will’s Clickable

Just finished my Millennials presentation for the Tech Coordinators luncheon — a tough gig, with all the chinking silverware.  So I’m resting, at Will Richardson’s presentation.  He has demonstrated how clickable he is.  If you type Will in Google, his blog is the third non-commercial site listed.  This is very impressive.

I tried it with DavidKing David came up as number one, followed by Michelangelo’s David.  Then there’s David Bowie, David Weinberger, and Jacques-Louis David.  Then number nine was Harry and David, offering gourmet fruit baskets with entrees, appetizers, and home style desserts.

I gave up there! 😉

  1. Type in 2 cents and you rank near the top too. Why would Will get that high a ranking? 2 cents is my number one, no matter. Keep posting and sharing.

  2. I tried WIll — and didn’t even see him………..
tried D Warlick & David Warlick and you are #1 both times.

Alas, after Aniston, Lopez, & Garner — well, grins, I didn’t come off half bad. Put in Jennifer Wagner and I am #2. Grins, so I am content.

I’d like to see Will’s trick — there are too many issues with the word “Will” for him to display as you said……..hmmm, perplexing.

    Hugs to you!
And we don’t really care about #’s — do we?? (ha)

  3. You folks are missing the point!

Will is #3 out of 2,760,000,000.
David is #38 out of 614,000,000

    and for fun,
Miguel is #3 out of 117,000,000

That’s what, #3 out of 2.7 billion for Will? Sorry, I can’t count that high! And, David is awesome!

  4. Oh Miguel — grins — we weren’t missing the point…………we just can’t figure it out……….when I did a search of WILL, I came up with TONS of legal stuff about wills and testaments — perhaps I should have searched longer??? I just am perplexed at how he figured out how he was 3 — hmmm, is there an advanced search in google I am missing.

Woo Hoo — off to investigate.

See what you started, Dave — you started LEARNING and INVESTIGATING. What a concept.

    Enjoy your day
    Jennifer

ps — AHA, there is an advanced search, but alas, I still can’t get the results — hmm, this shall be a challenge for me today!! 🙂

  5. OHMIGOSH — (handing Miguel a pie to smash in my face) —
    you are right. WOWOWOWOW.

Or — grins — an all our looking for WILL today, we drove UP his Google Numerality?? Hmmm –what should we call it??

No worries, Miguel — I am sure that David doesn’t mind our little pingpong comment game we have going on.

See you at the WOW2 Chat in a few weeks……..grins, should I even bring this topic up??? (hehehe)

ps — thank you for a day of googling Will. LOL, why does that look so wrong!!! 🙂

  6. do you suppose will is high because he (along with others) are constantly googling him?
Those google searches are figured into the system somehow.
I googled my own school (Northside Elementary School) and it was number 2 of 1,100,000. Wooohoo! Googled myself just now and was number 7 out of 1,360,00 (from my FETC presentation link from last year.) Ooooh, now I feel my head getting bigger too. Wait, I have also shown up on hit number 41 and 43 (David’s CoLearner site and Serious Magic’s Forum.)
There has to be something to it–just continuously google yourself to get a better ranking in the hits. Hmmmmm. Or get others to do it. What a great extra credit project: Google me continuously until my rank goes up (and prove you did it) and you get extra credit in class!

Or maybe it has to do with the frequency that you post to and or update sites already indexed by Google. Will is a frequent poster to his own and other blogs and websites.

Oh well-back to rude reality. I don’t even appear to be a blip on the scale of the 91,000,000 Catherines.

  7. Google ranking depends on how many other web sites link to the site. Will appears near the top because he is recognized for his long standing and continuing contributions. More people link to his blog than link to mine, which isn’t as old and doesn’t contribute as much to the edublogging community — no argument here!
