It has recently undergone a multi-million dollar renovation, including tuckpointing, a new roof, upgrading of mechanical systems, etc. It’s particularly amazing because it was built at the turn of the century mostly by hand! Here is the url of their website:
It’s as grandiose inside as outside, a feast for the eyes. The dome is 180′ high inside, and 305′ feet high on the outside. The accoustics are as good as in any European cathedral, and music in that space is a feast for the ears. Can you tell I kinda like the place? 🙂
