Early morning at CUE

Early morning at CUE

It’s 6:59 AM, and I’m already in the presentation hall for my 8:00 address on the new shape of information. I’ve done a good deal of cooking on this presentation to make it a little more story based. I hope that it goes over well.

There are some early morning disappointments. For some reason this very large hall is the only one without house speakers, and I’m doing a session later this morning on podcasting. The little computer speakers that they have are AMAZINGLY loud, but the quality is not the best. Also, somebody stole the lapel mic for the room yesterday, so they’ve given me a hand-held. I truly and passionately hate using a hand-held mic. They are trying valiantly to find another lapel mic, but I’ll make do.

What I always say, is that it’s good to get the disappointments over with early, so that there are non left for the actual presentation.

Wish me luck!

  1. Dave,
I know you will be on the way home by now, but I thought you had your own lapel mic? Sounds like you need to hire a sound crew to fly ahead and setup your speaking halls. Just kidding. My farming buddies would say–“Ya hav to keep plowing to the end of the row!”

    Smile!

  2. Sounds like the time I finally got my principal to let me have some inservice training time to show teachers at my school how to use the internet. She gave me the whole afternoon and a backhoe digging in the street took out our ISBN line just as we got started. Or 2 years ago when my school district was hosting the state educational technology conference and the IT department chose that weekend to service all the district servers and took them all offline. 🙂

  3. As always — it is great to both see and listen to you share. You make everything sound do-able and I appreciate that.

Thanks again for your time at Cue Palm Springs. I can’t wait to see your pictures of our So Cal desert with SNOW on the mountains and I hope hope hope you were able to catch the double rainbow.

Keep up the good work, David. I am sure that I am just one of many who wish to APPLAUD you for all your help and encouragement!
