One Under Every Principal

I just drove a Seagway for the first time.  Not only do I have to get me one of these (perhaps when I turn 75), but this would be a cool thing for hall security.  They’re easy to drive, turn, stop, and reverse.  It’s all fairly intuitive — except for getting off.  That part was hard.

What a cool machine!

  1. So tell us more —
why was it there?? how were you able to handle it so easily?? Was it like riding a scooter or driving a car standing up?? Why is it hard to step off?? Was it smooth??
and the #1 question — we all want to know —
    ARE THERE PICTURES?

ps — hmmm, maybe there will be one at NECC?? Hope Hope!!

  2. David,

Two years ago I took a 3-hour Segway tour of Paris at nightfall. It’s highly recommended! I had a lot of difficulty mounting and dismounting and kept being hurled backwards into traffic or forward into wrought iron. My adaptive solution was to circle and never get off the Segway when we stopped to look at monuments. My family was no more horrified by my incompetence than normal.

    However, back to education…

The solution isn’t Segways in the hall. It’s demilitarizing schools.
